A show stopping 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300b Convertible D was being auctioned by a business colleague of AMG Market. OK, it is not an AMG, but what a nice ride. AMG Market now provides a unique marketing process that serves sellers and buyers of fine Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

Here’s a caption from the sellers agent, “The remarkable 1953 300b four-door Convertible D is guaranteed to impress…not because it will win the next “Best of Show” award but because it is so evenly excellent, mechanically as well as cosmetically.”
Mid-December we shared a pic of another impressive Mercedes 300 we enjoyed viewing while in Vegas and subsequently in Phoenix (two back-to-back MBCA car club events). Dr. Phil Lufty won “Best of Show” for the concours with his Mercedes 300. It is a fine automobile.

Mercedes-Benz to Recall More Than 100,000 Vehicles in Germany

Mercedes-Benz announced a major recall of more than 100,000 of its vehicles in Germany due to defective windshield wiper motors.

This recall affects the A & B class vehicles and some of the C-class wagons. Contact your nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer for more information (GERMANY only).

Specs for AMG Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

Looking for the original specs for your AMG or one you are interested in purchasing? Are you trying to find out what horsepower, acceleration times, engine and drivetrain specs, or the fuel economy for a 2003 C32 for example? There is an easy way to find out; here’s how.

First, go to this website, Mercedes-Benz USA, and click on “Model Overview” (menu bar, top right) and select the year for the vehicle of interest. You can find information on model years ranging from 2000-2006.

Next, select the model type (i.e., C-Class, SL-Class, etc.). Now look on the left side of the page and select the model of interest. AMG’s are usually found near the bottom of the list.

Once you have found your vehicle, you’ll see a picture of the car and menu options such as the following example for the 2003 C32 AMG:

• Chassis
• Performance
• Dimensions
• Exterior Features
• Interior Features
• Instrumentation

CL-Class Coupe:

• New-generation V8-powered CL550 coupe (382 hp, 391 lb.-ft.) debuts in late 2006
• V12-powered CL600 model (510 hp, 612 lb.-ft.) follows shortly thereafter

GL-Class Sport Utility:

• A totally new vehicle class – the first full-size sport utility from Mercedes-Benz
• V8-powered GL450 (335 hp, 339 lb.-ft.) made spring 2006 debut

S-Class Sedan:

• Ninth-generation S-Class debuted with S550 (382 hp, 391 lb.-ft.) in February 2006
• Two V12-powered models to follow – S600 (510 hp, 612 lb.-ft.) in spring and S65 AMG (604 hp, 738 lb.-ft.) this summer

SL-Class Coupe/Roadster:

• Redesign includes more direct steering, deeper front air dam, new wheel designs, new 3-bar grille, clear taillights and new interior colors
• SL550 (382 hp, 391 lb.-ft) replaces 302-hp SL500 and joins SL55 AMG, SL600 and SL65 AMG

M-Class Sport Utility:

• Second-generation 2006 M-Class introduced last year
• ML63 AMG (503 hp, 465 lb.-ft.) joins 268-hp ML350 and the 302-hp ML500
• Efficient ML320 CDI diesel (221 hp, 398 lb.-ft.) joins M-Class in fall 2006

C-Class Sedan:

• New exclusive wheel designs for Sport and Luxury models
• Sport sedans now have AMG rear spoiler, AMG dual tip exhaust and black birdseye maple interior trim
• C230 is now a flexible-fuel vehicle that can use E85 ethanol as well as gasoline
• C55 AMG discontinued – 2007 line includes the C230, C280 and C350 models

SLK-Class Coupe/Roadster:
