SLS AMG GT3 Last Test Event Customer Sport Version Gullwing

SLS AMG GT3 Mercedes-BenzAffalterbach – Three Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3s will be at the starting line for the 24-hour race in Dubai (UAE) on 14 January 2011. This first test event in 2011 also marks the completion of the development program for the racing version of the gullwing model. The three cars are being entered by the customer teams Black Falcon and Heico Motorsport. The 24-hour race in Dubai will serve to accumulate test kilometres and fine-tune the SLS AMG GT3 before deliveries begin at the end of February 2011.The SLS AMG GT3s will compete with high-caliber international sports car competitors in Class A6. This is a low-to-moderate-speed driving event. It consists of a course laid out on a parking lot or similar area. The course consists of a start garage, a stop garage, gates, turns, and straightaways marked by traffic cones serving as pylons. The object is to traverse the course as quickly as possible without knocking down or displacing any pylons or going off course. Drivers are permitted to walk the course beforehand to become familiar with the layout, track surface, turns, and any unusual local conditions. For more information go to our website.

A show stopping 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300b Convertible D was being auctioned by a business colleague of AMG Market. OK, it is not an AMG, but what a nice ride. AMG Market now provides a unique marketing process that serves sellers and buyers of fine Mercedes-Benz automobiles.

Mid-December we shared a pic of another impressive Mercedes 300 we enjoyed viewing while in Vegas and subsequently in Phoenix (two back-to-back MBCA car club events). Dr. Phil Lufty won “Best of Show” for the concours with his Mercedes 300. It is a fine automobile.

Specs for AMG Mercedes-Benz Vehicles

Looking for the original specs for your AMG or one you are interested in purchasing? Are you trying to find out what horsepower, acceleration times, engine and drivetrain specs, or the fuel economy for a 2003 C32 for example? There is an easy way to find out; here’s how.

First, go to this website, Mercedes-Benz USA, and click on “Model Overview” (menu bar, top right) and select the year for the vehicle of interest. You can find information on model years ranging from 2000-2006.

Next, select the model type (i.e., C-Class, SL-Class, etc.). Now look on the left side of the page and select the model of interest. AMG’s are usually found near the bottom of the list.

Once you have found your vehicle, you’ll see a picture of the car and menu options such as the following example for the 2003 C32 AMG:
